High Speed Cameras for Broadcasting Applications at NAB Show
April 8-11 2019 | Emergent Vision Technologies will be exhibiting at NAB Show in Las Vegas, Nevada from April 8-11, 2019. Organized by the National Association of Broadcasters, NAB Show is the global event highlighting the convergence of media, entertainment and technology.
Latest Sony, AMS and Gpixel high performance sensors for broadcasting
As the award-winning pioneer for ultra high speed and high resolution Ethernet based cameras for industrial and broadcast applications we will present our 10 GigE and our newly shipping 25 GigE cameras in resolutions ranging from 2 to 50 megapixels. These include camera models utilizing the latest sensors from Sony, AMS, and Gpixel that provide high resolution images at the highest frame rates. For example the 30 megapixel BOLT HB-30000-S (Sony IMX342 – 35 fps), the 50 megapixel HB-50000 (AMS cmv50000 – 30fps), and the 25 megapixel HB-25000-G (GPixel GMAX0505 – 75 fps).
Our cameras are very popular with sports and virtual reality applications and in particular with those requiring long cable runs. The cameras are also the smallest form-factor for the provided performance, which allows for placement where conventional broadcast cameras would not be used.
Coming soon: SMPTE 2110 compliance
Emergent Vision Technologies is excited to bring crossover capability with the announcement that all our 10 GigE and 25 GigE Cameras will soon be SMPTE 2110 compliant. SMPTE 2110 is an exciting new standard that allows production to move video data over IP. This will allow broadcast and entertainment customers to use our robust industrial cameras in their applications at a fraction of the cost of typical studio and professional cameras that are SMPTE 2110 compliant on the market today.
In addition all Emergent camera models support the following features:
- IEEE1588 PTP time synchronization
- Stunning color using color temperature optimized white balance and color correction matrix processing
- Ability to leverage cross industry Ethernet technologies such as switches and multicasting.
High Performance, Low CPU
We develop technologies to keep the server-side CPU utilization and latency to incredibly low levels. For this, we leverage technologies such as Mellanox’s VMA, Rivermax, and Cspi’s MVA to offload all packet processing to the Network Interface Controllers (NICs). This results in less than 1% CPU utilization and approximately only 100µs added latency. We also leverage Mellanox support for SMPTE 2110 for the highest performance broadcast networking support.
We look forward to seeing you on our booth.
