High resolution, fast frame rates

The proverbial photo finish in professional sports is likely the most classic imaging application a camera could be used in. The availability of high-speed cameras opens the door to new possibilities from improving the fan experience to making the correct call with goal line technology, instant replays, digital umpire/referee, or detailed motion analysis to name a few.

Our cameras are heavily used within sports applications and in particular those requiring long cable runs in stadiums or arenas, for example, where our simplified fiber interface outperforms any interface in the industry. They are also the smallest form-factor for the provided performance, which allows for placement where conventional broadcast cameras cannot be used.

Many of our customers in the broadcasting fields use multiple cameras per system. This means two or more cameras will be capturing images at the same time requiring precise synchronization to ensure optimal results to analyze high-speed events. All our cameras support IEEE1588 PTP synchronization. The PTP feature is supported through our eCapture Pro software, which includes functional code examples to get you started.


Our 10GigE, 25GigE, and 100GigE cameras utilize the latest sensors from Sony and Gpixel. These newest sensors provide high resolution images at the highest frame rates, as well as stunning color using color temperature optimized white balance and color correction matrix processing to capture every moment with the highest levels of imaging precision.


We also leverage Mellanox support for SMPTE ST 2110 compliance for the highest performance in broadcast networking support. SMPTE 2110 is an exciting new standard that allows production to move video data over IP. This will allow broadcast and entertainment customers to use our robust industrial cameras in their applications at a fraction of the cost of typical studio and professional cameras that are SMPTE 2110 compliant on the market today.


One system which was recently shipped involved 3 servers and 48 Emergent Bolt HB-25000-SB-C 25GigE cameras running at 25MP and 60fps. See the video in-line for the initial software experience. This system records and saves 200Gbps (25GB) per server for a total of 600Gbps (75GB) across all 3 servers with ZERO data loss thanks to Emergent’s ZERO copy technology. All cameras are also synchronized to sub 1 microsecond through IEEE 1588 PTP v2. Our eCapture Pro software and eSDK are the glue to hold it all together. Simply connect the cables, power up, and run the software. In just a few clicks you will see your data come to life. Another such system has a single server with 36 Emergent HR-12000-SB-C 10GigE cameras running at 12MP and 60fps. We even provide stands and lighting where desired. Another video shows a system developed to perform high performance H.265 compression for storage of images to small SSDs as well as supporting RTMP for sending images to RTMP clients on the internet. Emergent can also provide turnkey performance camera systems tailored to individual application needs.

One can use our eSDK with all the same performance benefits. For inference applications, you can train your models with PyTorch or TensorFlow and then with a few clicks test them with an Emergent camera in eCapture Pro using our unique plug-in feature.
